Recycle San Diego is hosting a FREE electronics recycling event which is open to the general public. Bring any amount of eWASTE to have it recycled for free.

Also, the web site FileStoreShred.com maintains a list of free paper shredding and electronics recycling events in the state and from coast to coast across the country. Similar to what is mentioned above, these events are faster and easier than trying to dispose of this stuff at home. Up until now, it was never this easy to find a shred when you needed one.
